Inbox

The Inbox is your unified view of LinkedIn DMs across every connected LinkedIn account. Every reply to your outreach lands here within seconds.

Layout

Three columns, left to right:

  • Account & filter rail — pick which LinkedIn account’s inbox you’re viewing, and apply filters (unread, has-campaign, replied since, agent-classified label).
  • Thread list — conversations sorted by most recent message, unread bolded.
  • Thread pane — the conversation, with composer at the bottom.

Threads

A thread bundles every message between you and one LinkedIn person across all your interactions (not just within Outpilot).

Each row shows:

  • Counterparty’s name + headline
  • Last message preview
  • Time of last message
  • A campaign pill if the conversation belongs to one of your campaigns
  • An agent-classified label (interested, objection, etc.) if the Reply Agent has run on the thread

Click a thread to read the full history.

Composing replies

Two ways to write a reply:

Manual

Type in the composer and hit send. Supports:

  • Plain text (LinkedIn doesn’t render markdown).
  • Emoji.
  • Attachments (PDF, image, ≤10 MB) — upload via the paperclip icon.

Quick replies

Click the lightning bolt in the composer to drop in a saved quick-reply template. Quick replies live in Settings → Quick replies and support {{firstName}} / {{company}}.

Common quick replies:

  • Booking link — your Cal.com / Calendly URL.
  • Pricing — pasteable pricing summary.
  • Follow-up nudge — gentle “still interested?” message.
  • Out of office — boundary-setter for travel.

Reactions

LinkedIn supports message reactions (👍, 🎉, 👏, ❤️, 😄, 💡). Hover a message and click the smiley to react. Useful when a quick acknowledgement beats a full reply.

Reactions are reflected on LinkedIn instantly.

Sync

Outpilot polls LinkedIn for new messages every ~60 seconds per account. New replies typically appear in the Inbox within 90 seconds of arrival.

The sync also catches:

  • Messages you sent on linkedin.com directly (mobile app, browser). These appear in Outpilot tagged “manual”.
  • Messages received before you connected the account, scoped to a 30-day backfill window.

You can force a sync via Account rail → ⋯ → Sync now. This is rate-limited; one manual sync per account per 5 minutes.

Filters

The filter rail offers:

  • Unread — anything you haven’t opened.
  • Replied since I last sent — counterparty has the next move.
  • In campaign — only threads tied to active campaigns.
  • Reply Agent labelsinterested, objection, not_now, negative, unclassified. Requires the Reply Agent to be enabled.

Combine multiple filters; they AND.

Keyboard shortcuts

  • j / k — next / previous thread
  • e — mark as read
  • r — focus composer
  • ? — full shortcut list

Frequently asked questions

Are messages I send from Outpilot visible on LinkedIn?

Yes — they’re real LinkedIn DMs, indistinguishable from messages sent via linkedin.com.

Do my Outpilot reads mark threads as read on LinkedIn?

Yes. Opening a thread in Outpilot sends a “read” event to LinkedIn, just like reading on linkedin.com would.

Why don’t I see threads from before I connected the account?

Initial sync backfills 30 days. Older threads can be searched on linkedin.com directly but won’t appear in Outpilot — by design, to keep the per-account database small and the search fast.

Can I see one merged inbox across multiple LinkedIn accounts?

Currently, no — each account has its own inbox view. Switch via the account rail. Cross-account merge is on the roadmap.

Where do auto-drafted replies (Reply Agent) appear?

Inline at the top of the composer when a draft is queued. Click Use draft, edit if you want, and send. See Reply Agent for the full flow.
